Shotmaker

Shotmaker is from Canada.. And their talent couldn't be contained in their own country.

Shotmaker helped transform post-hardcore into screamo. It's pretty interesting because they're in between. Even though they were short lived, they don't get the credit they deserve.

Shotmaker was created in 94 and in 1996 came out with a cd called "Mouse Ears Forget-Me-Not", this cd was more melodic then their later stuff which is pretty agressive.

The song that I preveiwed had a strong bass. I've listened to more since then and when there is a break down, not only the drums drive on but the bass too. I think that is really important in a song because in modern music bass guitar is given always getting shafted. Unless your "Death From Above" because their entire band is base guitars.

"Lyrically, Shotmaker exhibit less finesse. Nothing they scream about is weak enough to be deemed stupid, but their lyrics are often as esoteric as the hardcore scene itself. Though their aggression allows them to seem sincere and obviously angry about something, it's hard to get a true grip on the band's true agenda."

Shotmaker- Driver

I'm having a good time looking into these bands that defined the music that we listen to today. They'll be more to come.
