Jacks Mannequin
Hi. Im Jeremiah, and this is my writing debut. I thought for a while who i would write about, and i chose Jacks Mannequin. So here goes...
Im sure a lot of you have heard of Something Corporate. If you are familiar with Something Corporate then you are familiar with Andrew McMahon. Joining the band while he was still in high school, he started touring full time with Something Corporate. But four years of touring and writing with Something Corporate got to be a little bit draining. After playing some shows in Australia with the Offspring, McMahon came back to the states tired, mainly of his beard and long hair. So he shaved his head and beard, and began writing for his debut album with Jacks Mannequin.
After he finished writing a good ammount of songs, he was ready to assemble a band and start recording. The band he picked consists of Bobby Anderson on guitar and vocals, Jaques Brautbar also on guitar and vocals, and Jon Sullivan on bass. With a solid line up set, it was time to start recording. "All of the songs have a very spontaneous continuity to them. We got really good at recording a song in a day."
The album was produced by McMahon and Something Corporate producer Jim Wirt. Jim Wirt also contributed bass and guitar parts. But there was still the need for someone to play drums on the record. After a phone call from Tommy Lee, he ends up recording all the drum parts for the record. When Tommy called McMahon, he told him that he was a fan and that he would do the drums. McMahon returned the favor and co-wrote two songs on Tommy's latest solo record." I've never encountered anyone like him. He's pure energy- this incredibly enthusiastic, sweet man who just adores music."
The album was finished and given the title "Everything in Transit". If you dont have this cd, or havent listened to Jacks Mannequin, I strongly suggest you go pick up a copy.
Once the record was finished, Jay McMillan entered the band and Jacks Mannequin were ready to hit the stage. They made their debut at the famous South by Southwest. They played a good show and recieved a positive response from the crowd.
But lets back track a little bit. While the mastering was going on for "Everything in Transit", McMahon recieved word from his doctor that he had contracted Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. This put shows on hold and it was time for McMahon to recover.
After treatment and a full recovery, Andrew McMahon was ready to start playing shows again with Jacks Mannequin.
If you go on the bands website, the intro says "This is a story...". If you sit down and take the time to really listen to the album, youll realize that it does tell you a story. It tells you about McMahons life over a year.
I hope you enjoy this article thing.

Jacks Mannequin is incredible.
Good job.
Hm, I didn't know that he was the lead singer from Something Corporate. I never liked them that much, but Jack's Mannequin is pretty good.
Thanks Miah.
