Armor For Sleep

This Week's Download : "Armor For Sleep- The Truth About Heaven"

Also: "Armor For Sleep- My Town"

I find it halarious that these guys claim to be rock. You can see how the word emo if affecting everything in a negative manner. Hell, I dont blame them though. I wouldn't want to be associated with the likes of Green Day and other crap bands. Punk is mainstream, being a rebel is popular, punk is pop, and therefore not rebelling at all. It's quite the contridiction. You can get Green Day "rebel" posters in teeny bopper pop magazines. There are no more bands like NSync, because they have been replaced with a new breed of boy bands.

Nevertheless, Armor For Sleep is an excellent band with the occasional depressing lyic. I'd like to say theyre unique, and with the music they are.. But the lyrics are pretty generic for their genre.. Which is emo. Not rock. Car crashes, heaven, love, the usual. I'd link to the music video but IE is mandatory for the site, so it gets no plug.

So download both of these songs. They work because they're off of MySpace.

EDIT: January 1st, a few minutes after the new year..
As of midnight, January 1st, Too Late The Hero, the pop music sensation of southern Maine released "The Ground is Lava" to stream on MySpace. This song is in no way new because they have been playing it at concerts for years, but apparently it now has been recorded in studio. They sure made a big deal about it, and it is pretty good if you love Green Day.

Click the image to go to their MySpace. Have a good New Years.

Coda

This weeks downloads: Coda- Simon Says
And:Coda- Empires Fall.

These guys are from Nashville Tennesee, but this certianly isn't country music.

This is good free music. Empires Fall is a very political song, against George W. I honestly dont know anything about this band, and it's hard to learn when their site, is under construction. Another thing I know.. These downloads work. Click away!

I have to thank Radio Wazee, wazee.org, for being not like Pure Volume and making it easy for me to do this for you.

Tune in!

The Promise Ring

This week's Download- The Promise Ring- Tell Everyone We're..

The Promise Ring is an original band. They pioneered their Indie / Emo / Alternative genre. They really were the first to do this kind of stuff. I haven't listened to this song much, but I've heard one of their first CD's "30 Degrees Everywhere" many many times. These guys were early 90's. Surprized? You should be, they were creating the stuf I listen to know more then 10 years ago.

They came from Canada. So they rule. Canada invented this.

They broke up a couple times. Got back together. They're not together anymore though. All the good bands break up. Of course.

They claim they sound like "jesus meets mineral meets fugazi meets sunny day". I can kind of agree.. Although not as indie as Sunny Day. They sound alot like Mineral, but Im not sure who copied who. Both bands are very good and I hope to write of them in a upcoming entry. I suppose you'll like these guys if you like The Get Up Kids. You better've heard of them.

And here is the download I promised for last week.

Free HEISLEGEND
Heislegend- I Am Hollywood

This link will probably be dead in a day, so this AND THREE (3) MORE can be found here..
HEISLEGEND @ PUREVOLUME.
The new Myspace-esq Purevolume is very unstable after being revamped last week.

Purevolume:

"When He Is Legend signed to Solid State Records in the spring, the band had already stirred a blaring buzz all their own. But they were just getting started. 2004 has put He Is Legend on the map and on the move. In June, the five North Carolina natives released their debut EP, 90125 with Tribunal Records, a label most noted for helping launch the careers of bands like Atreyu and From Autumn to Ashes. The release received rave reviews, stirring the anticipation even further for He Is Legends debut full-length album, I Am Hollywood. Supplying listeners with clever lyrics and cathartic vocals, Hollywood will no doubt shock audiences with its instant display of musical maturity, setting the stage for He Is Legend to surely live up to their name".

Untill nekst week.

No stream for you. They suck anyways. Downloads for life dog.

Alexisonfire Split EP

I have no idea what is going on with this week's Stream

Alexisonfire Split EP

Apparently Alexisonfire teamed up with a mediocre punk band called Moneen to do remakes of their stuff from "Watch Out!". Alexisonfire bands will like this, but if you've never heard, or want to hear, don't listen to this. The originals rule.

I can't get any heislegend downloads for you because Purevolume seems to be updating.

So I'm giving you the most downloaded song ever off of wazee.org.
The Download- Action Action- Let's Never Go To Sleep

This download actually works, so download it, and listen to it. It's hard to explain Action Action, but if you despise Interpol the I don't suggest this song to you. It's especially hard to explain when you have to leave in 2 minutes.

Later.
